Man Confesses to Armed Robberies of Fast Food Stores

Fort Lauderdale Armed Robbery Defense AttorneyRecently, a Florida man was arrested after a string of robberies of people and businesses in the Fort Lauderdale area. The crime spree began on December 20, 2017, when the suspect allegedly robbed a man at gun point and then stole his wallet, credit cards and his vehicle. This incident happened about 9 p.m., outside a local massage parlor, and the victims car was also stolen. The robbery victims car was later identified as a 2009 Lexus 350.

Later, according to the police, the Lexus was then driven to a Dunkin Donuts store located in Davie, Florida. This was about a half-hour after the car was stolen from the first incident. According to the store clerk, the perpetrator jumped over the counter and said that it was a robbery. The robber stated that he was “stealing the stores money not their money.” The robber also offered threats to return and punish anyone who called the police.

The stolen vehicle was later spotted by Fort Lauderdale police, however, it sped away and evaded the police. Later, the police found the stolen vehicle parked in the the North West Seventh Court around the 1600 block. The robbery suspect was no where to be found at that time. However, it did not take the police long to locate their suspect because they had taken fingerprints from the stolen vehicle and had evidence from various security cameras.

On December27, 2017, the police arrested the suspect on an unrelated crime due to his theft from a pair of shoes from the Marshall store in the Coral Ridge Mall. According to police, the suspect went into the store and then traded his old shoes for a new pair, valued at over $100 and tried to walk out. The suspects fingerprints implicated him to the earlier crimes.
