A Palm Beach County teacher is accused of child abuse of allegedly giving a toddler a cut under her tongue. Because the child refused to eat after receiving the injury, the father became aware of the incident. The girl told her father that she got the cut in Ms. Zully’s class. After undergoing a medical exam, the doctor found that the child may have acquired the injury from someone forcibly shoving an object into her mouth. The teacher accused of this crime was arrested Thursday.
According to authorities, Zully Marilu Ruiz Yapan faces two counts of child abuse charges—one for the toddler and the other for an unidentified child. The 38 year old teacher was released on Friday from the Palm Beach County Jail.
