Former North Miami Beach employee, Debbie Fernandez, is seeking her job back after the city overturned a unanimous vote by the Civil Service Board to reinstate her. In her lawsuit filed in May the 29-year old alleges that she was laid off as a lone employee by the city in October 2011 for being a snitch after turning in her boss to the authorities when she heard him ask employees to buy him marijuana. She also claimed she was laid off because she was a lesbian and for complaining that she was being discriminated against because she was a lesbian. Fernandez is asking in the lawsuit to be immediately reinstated to her job and demands compensation from the city for “emotional economic damage.” for more information go to http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/06/04/2843709/ex-employee-sues-nmb-over-discrimination.html.
