NFL Player Arrested on Soliciting of a Prostitute
According to Miami police, former University of Miami football player Adewale Ojomo was arrested early Friday on charges of soliciting a prostitute. The 25-year-old former Hurricane was taken into custody at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center after he offered money in exchange for sex with an undercover cop who has posing as a prostitute.
Ojomo, who is on the practice squad for the Tennessee Titans, was arrested at a traffic stop shortly after speaking with the undercover officer who was standing at the corner of NE 22nd Street and NE Second Avenue. According to the police report of the incident, Ojomo drove up to the officer in a 2013 Lexus SUV and asked the officer, “What’s up.”
After the officer told Ojomo she was working, Ojomo asked about pricing and then offered the officer $100 for oral sex and intercourse. Ojomo also allegedly said he wanted “everything” and then asked the undercover officer if she had condoms. The officer claimed she did and then directed Ojomo across the street. Moments later, police pulled Ojomo over and took him into custody.
Ojomo played as a defensive end for the Miami Hurricanes from 2008 to 2011, and entered the NFL in 2012. After signing with the New York Giants in 2012 as an undrafted free agent, Ojomo then played for the Seattle Seahawks and Buffalo Bills before moving to the Titans.
