A Lantana family member named Charles Victor, 28, was arrested Thursday by Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies and charged with burglary and kidnapping a baby. He’s also charged with battery for pushing a woman inside the Lantana home.
Around midnight Thursday, authorities were notified of a kidnapping. Later on, they spotted Victor carrying a baby near the intersection of Medallion Way and Carthage Circle. Both Victor and the baby were covered in blood. When investigators found Victor, he reluctantly handed over the child, who was uninjured; the blood was coming from Victor’s hand. According to reports, Victor has no custody rights of the child.
This whole incident started when Victor went to the house to see the baby and became angry when he was refused visiting rights. In his anger and frustration, Victor broke a window and climbed through it to see the baby.
Victor is in the Palm Beach County Jail late Friday in lieu of a $3,000 bail.
