A man from the South Florida area was recently arrested for allegedly killing his ex-girlfriend and another man. According to authorities, the victims’ bodies were found in an apartment in Miami Lakes on the morning of Thursday, November 8, 2018.
The 27 year old man was arrested and charged with two counts of murder in the first degree. According to the arrest report, the Miami-Made police were called to the apartment building, which is located n Main Street and New Barn Road a little before 8:30 that morning after someone saw the male victim, who lay deceased near his apartment’s front door. He was identified the next day and was 26 years old.
According to the arrest report, police officers ventured into the apartment and then found the body of the female victim, a 32 year old from the Deerfield Beach area. They discovered that both individuals had been shot multiple times.
Per the arrest report, a neighbor left his house at approximately 7:30 am on Thursday and noticed a man sitting on the steps just outside of the young man’s apartment. The neighbor reported to the police that he’d heard maybe 10 gunshots shortly after but had not called 911.
About 35 minutes later, the neighbor left his house again and noticed the victim’s front door ajar. He went over and peered inside and saw the young man lying on the floor, unresponsive. According to the police, at that point, he called 911.
When the police arrived, both victims were pronounced dead. The police stated that they were called to that same apartment the night before at around 11:30 because someone had been banging incessantly at the door.
According to the police, the woman had reported that her ex-boyfriend had been stalking her. She then gave them his information, which was included in another report.
The arrest report stated that a black SUV was captured on video by a surveillance camera in the area a short time prior to the shooting. Per the video, the man was also captured and shown walking to the apartment building and then back to the vehicle after 7:30 that morning.
According to the police, a witness contacted the sheriff’s office in Broward County, claiming that his gun had been stolen and was used to commit a murder. The witness also reported that the man had entered his house the night before the shooting and stole his gun from his bedroom. The next morning, at around 9:30, he said the man came back and told him he took his gun and “did something bad.”
The police caught the man at Miami International Airport the night of the murder as he was attempting to get on a flight to Brazil. He was then arrested and refused to speak to the police.
