Jurors resumed deliberating on the first degree murder trial of a Miramar man on Monday. The defendant, Kendrick Herring, admits to allegedly stabbed his father to death almost four years ago on Aug. 5, 2007. However his defense team told the 12-member jury that he was legally insane at the time. Herring faces life in prison if convicted, but he will also not go free if he is acquitted by reason of insanity. Hearring has been diagnosed with a psychotic disorder, but prosecutors believe drug use and anger toward his father drove him to kill him. Do you think Herring is legally insane? He did ,afterall, sign into the jail as “God.” Do you think he should serve time in jail or a mental institution?
