Homestead Police Officers Charged in Beating Case

Three Homestead police officers were arrested Monday night on a series of charges of alleged attacks. Two of these attacks were caught on video of men outside a bar last year. The main alleged assailant was Sgt. Jefferey Rome who is said to have beaten and peppered-sprayed at least three men outside of Celio’s Latin Quarter Bar. At least two of the incidents were videotaped by undercover detectives who had the bar under surveillance for an unrelated investigation into human trafficking.
