Fort Lauderdale police report the arrest of a 16-year-old boy from the city. Law enforcement officials have accused the minor with as many as eight burglaries in Fort Lauderdale and other locales within Broward county. The youth appears to have been acting alone in committing burglaries.The most recent break-in attributed to the youth occurred in Fort Lauderdale proper. The resident returned to her residence to find the suspect attempting to break hurricane glass windows at the premises with flower pots. When he saw the woman, he retreated to his automobile and drove away. The police apprehended him after the homeowner called 911.During questioning by law enforcement agents, the boy admitted to eight burglaries. These included five in Fort Lauderdale and three in Plantation.
