Larry Paul Delaney,52, was wanted in Ft. Lauderdale for failing to register as a sex offender. However, when he walked into the federal courthouse on Broward Boulevard last week to file a civil action he found himself surrounded by police officers. Delaney was in the clerk’s office when the first police officer arrived to take him into custody. However, Delaney had other plans and allegedly started a fight with the police officer and it took five deputies to calm him down. He was arrested and charged with resisting arrest with force against a federal officer. Do you think Delaney should still be required to be registered as a sex offender for a crime he committed in 1990? Do you think it was smart for Delaney to walk in a federal courthouse when he didn’t register himself yet? This problem could have easily been avoided if he would have either a) registered or b) never walked into the courthouse which has police officers.
