Miami Resident Arrested in Haircut Shooting
A 37-year-old Miami resident was arrested on November 6 and charged with first-degree murder for shooting a man who was getting a haircut on a porch. Police also charged the suspect with two counts possession of ammunition by a convicted felon. He was said to have argued with the victim over money and returned with his gun to kill him. The victim ran into the house where he died. A box of bullets were found at the suspect’s home when police arrived.
Premeditated first-degree murder may be the charge if a person is believed to have killed another person “with malice aforethought.” To prove such a charge, it must be shown that the victim is indeed dead, the death was the result of the accused’s actions, and there was premeditation on the part of the accused.
