A domestic violence suspect, Christopher Colon, will be spending 364 days behind bars in Broward for using excessive profanity when speaking to Judge Jay Hurley. The 27 year old was supposedly upset with the judge for denying him pre-trial release from jail in bond court.
According to reports, Colon was accused of twice-violating a court injunction and a battery causing great bodily harm. Judge John “Jay” Hurley did set bond at $125,000 for each of the two violations but denied Colon a bond on the battery charge.
Because Colon felt that the Judge was being unreasonable, Colon cursed him out for several minutes. After listening to his rant, Judge Hurley declared him in contempt of court and sentenced him to 364 days in jail.
