Lawyers for former presidential candidate John Edwards are expected in federal court to make up a schedule for his criminal case with prosecutors and a U.S. district court judge Thursday afternoon. The former U.S. senator pleaded not guilty last month to six felony charges involving how money was spent during his unsuccessful campaign for the presidency. Prosecutors accused Edwards of accepting contributions above the legal limit to hide an affair and filing false campaign finance reports to cover up the payments.
Lawyers are trying to reach an agreement on the release of thousands of pages of documents that prosecutors have and potential trial dates. The information came from http://news.findlaw.com/ap/other/1110/07-14-2011/20110714083501_30.html
