Out of prison, man still awaits freedom

It has been 107 days since Anthony Caravella was released from prison, but he says he’s still not free.It will take more time, he thinks, to catch up on what he missed during the 9,389 days he spent behind bars for a Miramar rape and murder that recent DNA testing suggests he did not commit.
Caravella was 15 when charged with the brutal 1983 slaying. He served about 26 years of a life sentence before Broward prosecutors took the extraordinary measure of seeking his temporary release Sept. 10 while they check the accuracy of the results and test other evidence.
